RIPA Buffer, 1X (with EDTA)

RIPA Buffer, 1X (with EDTA) is a high-performance lysis solution designed to efficiently extract cytoplasmic, nuclear, and membrane-bound proteins from mammalian cells. It utilizes a potent combination of ionic and non-ionic detergents, such as SDS and Sodium Deoxycholate, to thoroughly disrupt cellular structures and solubilize difficult proteins. The inclusion of EDTA acts as a safeguard by chelating divalent cations, which effectively inhibits metal-dependent proteases from degrading your sample.

This buffer is considered a "gold standard" for applications like Western Blotting and Immunoprecipitation because it provides a clear, denatured protein lysate. However, due to its relatively harsh nature, it may not be suitable for experiments where maintaining the functional activity of native protein complexes is critical.
